- Nickel Alloy 200 Pipe
Nickel Alloy 200 Pipe is made up of a commercially pure grade of nickel. This is a product that has good strength with very high corrosion resistant properties, especially to hydroxides. The material also has very low electrical resistance. Stellar Alloys is a leading supplier of Nickel Alloy 200 Pipe products in various dimensions and types. The specifications for the Nickel 200 Seamless Pipe are ASTM B161 and B622 with the dimensions varying according to the ASTM, ASME and API standards.
With a melting point of around 1446°C (2635°F), Nickel 200/201 can withstand extreme temperatures without compromising its structural integrity, making it as good as the Nickel Alloy 200 Exhaust Pipe and heat exchanger pipes. This exceptional heat resistance allows it to be used in environments where other materials may degrade or fail. In addition, Nickel 200/201 also possesses excellent thermal conductivity, ensuring efficient heat transfer and distribution.
Nickel 201 retains good mechanical properties at elevated temperatures, enabling it to withstand thermal cycling and shock. Moreover, it is ductile, allowing for easy fabrication and shaping according to specific application requirements. Whereas Nickel Alloy 200 Seamless Pipe is made from a single solid billet of nickel 200. The billet is heated, then pierced and rolled (and often cold-drawn) to form a hollow tube. Because it’s formed from one piece, there’s no longitudinal weld.

Frequently Asked Questions About Nickel 200/201 Alloy Pipe
Nickel 200 is commercially pure wrought nickel (UNS N02200, ~99% Ni). It resists caustic alkalis and offers high thermal/electrical conductivity—used in chemical equipment, heat exchangers, and electrodes.
Pricing depends on nickel market, size, schedule, form (seamless/welded), finish, and quantity. Share OD, wall, length, and qty for a firm quote and best bulk rates.
Nickel 201 is the low-carbon grade (0.02% C max vs 0.15% for 200). It avoids graphitization and keeps properties better above ~315 °C; otherwise composition and corrosion resistance are very similar.
Nickel 205 is a higher-purity grade tailored for electrical/electronic parts. Versus 200, it provides higher strength and improved electrical properties for leads, terminals, and battery components.
