Inconel 600 Pipe and Tube
Inconel 600 Pipe Manufacturer and Supplier in India
Inconel 600 pipe is an ordinary engineering material utilised in applications where corrosion and heat resistance are needed. The alloy has excellent mechanical properties and offers the desirable combination of good strength and good workability. UNS N06600, also referred to as Alloy 600, is a high-quality oxidation, carburisation, and chloride stress corrosion cracking resistant alloy, which can be used in extreme thermal and chemical service environments. These qualities make it essential in many industries, such as chemical processing or even nuclear engineering. To compare it with the other nickel alloys, visit our full line of nickel alloys.
As a leading Inconel 600 pipes manufacturer and supplier in India, Stellar Alloys Steel Pipes and Tubes supplies and provides seam-welded alloy 600 pipes of specifications ASTM B167 and ASME SB167. We stock a wide variety of Alloy 600 tubes to be used in the heat exchangers and process systems. High Temperature and Corrosion Resistance of Inconel 600 Pipes & Tubes
These pipes come with a high capability to withstand high temperatures and corrosive environments; hence, they can be used in constant operation in harsh, reliable industrial environments. UNS N06600 contains high levels of nickel (minimum 72%), as well as chromium chemistry, which guarantees a high level of resistance to oxidation, scaling, carburisation, and chloride-induced stress corrosion cracking, even in the application where conventional stainless steels would decay at a rapid rate.
Mechanical strength and structural stability are retained over a wide temperature span, from cryogenic service temperatures down to an excess of 1095°C (2000°F). This performance makes the material be exposed to hot gases, steam systems, furnace atmospheres, and other harsh chemical media, which are normally encountered in the thermal and process industries.
The alloy is also discovered to have a good reaction with caustic alkalis, dry chlorine, hydrogen chloride, and neutral salts. The alloy is stable in a carburising environment as well as in a nitriding environment. These corrosion and thermal resistances are usually combined; thus, the pipes are frequently found in the specifications of chemical processing plants, refinery heaters, heat exchangers, power generation systems, and high-temperature process piping. In cases where corrosion resistance is even greater, our Hastelloy pipe solutions or Super Duplex pipes are available.
In situations where service conditions like the severity of corrosion or extreme performance requirements are involved, engineers tend to compare different alloys of nickel to come up with the best grade. In order to conduct a more thorough technical analysis, see our guide: Comparison of Inconel 600, 625, and 718. This source offers an understanding of the variations in corrosion, temperature capacity, and mechanical performance to facilitate the informed choice of materials to be used in critical applications.

Applications of Inconel 600 Pipes & Inconel 600 Tubes
Industrial systems are designed with Inconel 600 pipe since the materials need to resist high temperature, chemical corrosion, and continuous mechanical forces. Its stability in oxidizing, carburizing, and chloride-rich environments makes it an appropriate alloy for extreme service conditions across various industries.
These pipes are commonly used in equipment related to heat transfer, high-temperature process systems, and in chemical handling applications where reliability over extended periods and degradation resistance are needed.
Typical applications include:

- Heat exchanger and condenser systems: Due to resistance to chloride-ion stress-corrosion cracking. See also our Stainless Steel Pipe & Tube range.
- Chemical and petrochemical processing lines: In the case of heaters, stills, bubble towers and fatty acid processing condensers. Look at Hastelloy C276 in case of more violent conditions.
- High-pressure and nuclear system: it’s used to make different components of boilers, superheather and steam systems.Â
- Furnace components: It’s also used to make different heater tubes, retorts, muffles, and heat-treating equipment.
- Marine condensers and sea water cooling systems: Not chloride resistant. Monel 400 is also very good in marine use.
- Nuclear steam generator components: Standard material for steam generator tubing in pressurized water reactors.
- Aerospace instrumentation: High-temperature assemblies and exhaust liners.
- Pulp and paper industry: Abietics acid processing equipment.
Related Inconel Products
In addition to pipes and tubes, we also supply:
Pickling baskets and acid handling equipment: Equipment used in the manufacture of sodium sulfide. Also consider Titanium Pipes for highly corrosive acids.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Inconel 600 has a resisting oxidation temperature of up to 2000°F (1093 °C). Nevertheless, Inconel 800 or Inconel 625 may be used in some temperature regimes at 370 °C in applications where a high creep-rupture strength is needed.
Yes, in high temperature and highly corrosive conditions. The performance of Inconel 600 is considerably much better than that of SS 316 to resist oxidation, carburization, and chloride stress-corrosion cracking.
Yes, we are also experts in providing the Inconel 600 seamless tubes with a specific design to fit in heat exchangers, condensers, and steam generators, in full accordance to ASTM B167 standards.
Yes, every order is accompanied by a Mill Test Certificate (MTC) in accordance with EN 10204 3.1, detailing the chemical and mechanical properties of the supplied material.
Inconel 600 is a nickel-chromium alloy with excellent ability to resist oxidation at high temperatures, and Inconel 625 is composed of molybdenum and niobium, which provides the alloy with stronger ability and resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion. Inconel 625 is mostly used in more aggressive applications and also in applications of higher mechanical stress.
Inconel 600 is not magnetic at room temperature, even when cold worked. This characteristic allows its use in scenarios where the magnetic interference is not present.
The Inconel 600 has a melting range of around 1354°C to 1413°C (2470°F to 2575°F), which adds to its high-temperature performance properties.
