Monel 400 Pipe Manufacturer and Supplier in India
Monel 400 Pipe is a nickel-copper type of material that is designed to work in service environments that include sea water, brine, acidic and alkaline environments. It contains a large percentage of corrosion, erosion and stress corrosion crack resistance, and can be used in aggressive industrial and marine applications which ordinary stainless steel piping cannot withstand. Monel 400 pipes are normally supplied to ASME SB165 and ASTM B165 specifications which are internationally known as the UNS N04400. Equivalent material standards include Werkstoff 2.4360 and EN NiCu30Fe titles that are utilized in the engineering and process industries of the world and permit the similarity of the material to international project documentation.
Monel 400 is more resistant to seawater and hydrofluoric acid corrosion and corrosion by chloride-containing environments than the austenitic stainless steels, such as 316. Its application is typically common when the pitting, crevice corrosion or shorter life of stainless steel is noted particularly in marine, chemical processing and offshore systems. Stellar Alloys is a producer and distributor of the Monel 400 seamless and welded pipes which have enabled it to maintain local and international projects. We provide complete certification and project documentation to our marine systems, chemical plants, heat exchangers, desalination units and oil and gas piping.

Corrosion Resistance and Service Performance of Monel 400 Pipe
Monel 400 pipes are suitable for the sea, brackish water, neutral salts, and alkaline water. The nickel-copper alloy offers great resistance against pitting, erosion corrosion, and stress corrosion fracture. The alloy also does well in the reduction of acids like the hydrofluoric acid, hence it is applicable in chemical processing and in service in the sea.
For environments involving mixed acids or severe reducing conditions, engineers may consider Hastelloy C276 pipes.
