This material is specifically designed to provide excellent resistance to sulfuric acid, phosphoric acid, and chloride stress corrosion cracking. These plates and sheets are widely used in chemical processing, heat exchangers, storage tanks, and pharmaceutical equipment where corrosion resistance is critical.
Alloy 20 offers significantly better corrosion resistance than standard stainless steel grades such as 304 or 316, particularly in acidic environments. While stainless steel performs well in general applications, Alloy 20 is specially developed to withstand aggressive chemical exposure, especially sulfuric acid. It also provides improved resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion in demanding industrial conditions.
