254 SMO Sheet & Plates Manufacturer & Supplier
Stellar Alloys Steel Pipes and Tubes is a reliable producer of 254 SMO sheets, plates and coils, produced with respect to ASTM A240 and offered in UNS S31254 grade. 254 SMO sheets & plates is a high-alloy austenitic stainless steel created to exhibit superior performance in aggressive and chloride-rich environments that low-grade stainless steels might fail to perform in.
Having a high molybdenum and nitrogen content, 254 SMO provides a Pitting Resistance Equivalent Number (PREN) of over 42, which provides high resistance against pitting and crevice corrosion. This is why it is a perfect attempt to be used in marine and offshore applications and in chemical processing, which are subject to seawater and other difficult factory media. The 254 SMO has much greater resistance to chloride-induced attack and sulphuric acid environments than the standard grades like ASTM A240 TP316 and ASTM A240 904L.
UNS S31254 material has a low carbon structure that guarantees high levels of weldability, and it reduces the chances of intergranular corrosion. Meanwhile, it has greater mechanical strength than the majority of standard austenitic stainless steels, enabling a decreased thickness of the material to be used without affecting performance. Its remarkable resistance to stress corrosion cracking also increases its suitability for use in challenging processing systems.
Stellar Alloys Steel Pipes and Tubes offers 254 SMO products in any size, thickness and finish to suit the needs of the project. All sheets, plates and coils are fully tested to be dimensionally accurate, have corrosion resistance and are also in line with international quality standards.
In industries that need superior durability, strength and extended corrosion resistance, 254 SMO stainless steel from Stellar Alloys provides a reliable and economical service.
