Manufacturing & Heat Treatment of ASTM A350 LF2 Round Bar

ASTM A350 LF2 round bars are supplied in either normalised or quenched-and-tempered (Q&T) condition depending on size and application requirements. Normalising is carried out at 870–925°C followed by air cooling, which refines the grain structure and improves low-temperature toughness. For applications requiring higher strength and tighter mechanical properties, Q&T treatment is used. In this process, the bars are austenitised at 870–925°C, then quenched in water or oil, and tempered above 620°C. All ASTM A350 LF2 round bar products are impact-tested after heat treatment to ensure compliance with ASTM A350 Charpy V-notch requirements.
