What is Hastelloy C22 Round Bar?
Hastelloy C22 Round Bar is a corrosion-resistant nickel alloy bar manufactured with high chromium, molybdenum, and tungsten content. The alloy provides excellent protection against oxidizing and reducing acids, chloride contamination, seawater corrosion, and harsh chemical environments. Due to its superior metallurgical stability, Alloy C22 resists grain boundary precipitation in the weld heat-affected zone, making it suitable for welded applications.

Corrosion Resistance of Hastelloy C22
Hastelloy C22 offers one of the highest corrosion resistance levels among nickel alloys. It performs exceptionally well in chlorine-contaminated environments, organic and inorganic acids, ferric chloride solutions, seawater, and acidic chloride media. The alloy also provides excellent resistance to localized corrosion such as pitting, crevice corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking.

Heat Treatment of Hastelloy C22 Bars
Hastelloy C22 bars are typically solution annealed at approximately 1121°C (2050°F) followed by rapid cooling. The alloy can be cold worked and hot worked; however, intermediate annealing may be required because of rapid work hardening characteristics.
